Our Mission and Dedication to Safety

I can’t believe it was only 3 weeks ago that I asked Judy Calvillo if she could deliver her family’s farm offerings. As with many small farmers, Calvillo Brothers did not deliver their products. Most farmers depend on farmers markets for 70% of their sales. The novel coronavirus hit small businesses hard and left many farmers unsure of how to keep their farms going. In just a couple of weeks, we launched Farmers Market On Wheels (FMOW) to help these businesses thrive, and are now serving the Bay Area with farm-fresh produce.

We are delivering farm freshness directly to your door. You can order once a week with a minimum purchase of $39.99. The entire box is completely customizable. However, we are also offering subscription boxes for those with busy lives; receive the freshest, most in-season produce at your own timing. Whatever kind of box you get, gift it, send it to a loved one, and/or feed your family with healthy, delicious fruits and veggies. Whatever you do, it will help small farmers like Judy, stay in business and keep operating for generations to come.

Our Response to COVID-19: How we are keeping you safe

We know that COVID-19 may play a role in how comfortable people feel when shopping outside. Rest assured, Farmers Market On Wheels understands this struggle and is striving to provide healthy and delicious produce for those sheltering at home, while also maintaining a high level of safety ourselves.

Based on the CDC, there is no indication that COVID-19 can be transmitted through food, and the risk of transmission through food delivery is minimal or non-existent. We want you to know that our farmers, packing staff, and delivery personnel is taking the utmost precaution when handling your orders. Our team is using protective gloves, masks, proper hand-washing, safe food handling, and regularly cleaned workspaces.

We hope that we can help you through this difficult time. If you have any questions, please send us a message using the chat in the bottom-right corner, or email carla@fmow.org

Stay healthy and stay safe!

Thank you for your support,
Carla and the rest of the FMOW team

  • Glad I found this service during shelter in place time. Beats going to the store and risk not finding good produce and waiting in long lines. The strawberries were sweet and fragrant. Also enjoyed the fresh eggs and other organic produce at an affordable price.
